Rituals for Trauma Repair
RITUALS FOR TRAUMA REPAIR
The essence of trauma is a rupture in the relationship with the self: with our bodies, our feelings, and our needs. This rupture compromises our capacity for connection not just with ourselves, but also with our world, our communities, and each other. In order to restore our capacity for connection with that which matters to us the most, we need to engage in trauma repair practices that help us reconnect with our bodies in the present moment.
Ritual can be a powerful modality for trauma repair. By bringing together the principles of intention, pleasure, and repetition, as well as artfully integrating the four elements and the five senses, ritual helps us reconnect with our bodies, with nature, with Spirit, and with each other. By allowing us to experience our true nature, and giving us a taste in the moment of who we would be if we were untouched by trauma, ritual helps us envision and embody bold new possibilities for a just and liberated future.
In this workshop, we’ll explore:
- How trauma disconnects us from our true nature.
- The ways in which ritual is already creating change in your life.
- How to create rituals that are designed for trauma repair.
- How to build a nourishing and sustainable ongoing relationship with ritual.
This self-paced course includes:
- 75-minute video lecture
- Lecture slides
- Tarot spreads PDF
- Resourcing worksheet
Your Instructor
Hi, I’m Fanny Priest (she/her.) I’m a trauma and grief coach, with 15 years of experience as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist. I’m a queer, polyamorous tarot witch, mama of two, native French speaker, and lover of decaf coffee, rainbows, art & stationery supplies, and classic rock. I’m a Sagittarius sun. Cancer moon, Taurus rising, and a type 2 on the Enneagram.
I’ve helped hundreds of students and clients create safe space for their discomfort, and repair the relationship with their bodies, their feelings, and their needs.
I believe that regulating our nervous system, repairing trauma, and feeling safe in our bodies is the most important thing we can work on that makes it possible for us to fully belong to ourselves and to finally live and love according to our own standards and values, and that our own healing is the first and necessary step in healing our communities and our world.
